I don’t do clashing prints. Period. I believe you’ve realized it by now, but my style is very simple, very parisian, and I’ll always prefer an effortless look rather than a complicated mix.

But to be honest, sometimes even I can appreciate an eccentric style. Take Leandra Medine from The Man Repeller : I would NEVER dress like her, but she is a real fashion genius ! The same goes for Anna Dello Russo or Daphne Guinness : you can appreciate one’s style while knowing you’d look like a complete idiot with their clothes on.

But one morning, I decided to try something new : suddenly, I felt the urge to combine my striped jacket with my python pumps from Zara… What happened to me you might wonder ? I couldn’t even tell you. Maybe I wasn’t wide awake, because this is perhaps one of the first time ever I wore clashing prints.

Well obviously, I stayed quite soft, as I wasn’t planning on looking like the unique Susie Bubble anyway. My fav basic ripped jeans and a cute super mini Céline bag were perfect to make this look more ‘me’, and this nearly convinced me that prints are not so bad after all…

After all, as a blogger, it’s nearly as if I had to wear them ! How do you want to catch a photographer’s eye if you’re not wearing a crazy outfit from head to toe ? But one thing at a time, for the moment I’ll stick to my basic style, with just a little bit of clashing-prints !

---------------

  18. Not clashing, but smashing. Smashing in the British manner (great) and not the American manner (bad). I like the the snake print is muted in color so it's barely noticable. By no means are these two patterns competeing with eachother for the spot like. This is a great look.

  19. you did just fine. Mixing prints is no biggie if you stay in the same color family! Awesome job.
