So yesterday, I discovered this new website : GOMI (as in Get off my Internet)... Basically, if you don't know it already, it's about bloggers people would love to see less online. Given that we're talking here about girls with million of followers, it's very unlikely to happen, but hey, it's crazy how some people can hate someone they've never met !

But the truth is, I kind of really laughed at some of the comments, and even though I could never consider a girl who makes a business out of her blog 'stupid', I have to admit there was some truth in what the girls discussed. Even though most of the bloggers are from the States (and I'm ashamed to admit I don't know all of them...), sometimes it can be fun to point out all the clichés of a fashion blogger, especially after a shitty Monday (God it's hard getting back to real life after a week off and London Fashion Week !)

Is it terrible to admit that most (well, some anyway) of the clichés are true ? And yes, there were some moments at LFW that definitely looked like they came out of The Devil Wears Prada (only the blogger version). Definitely blog post-worthy scenes, I'll have to tell you all about it !

Anyway, I also read a funny article on GOMI about shitbloggerswear : fur with open toes, bare legs in winter, or sleeveless coat, hum, hum, exactly like the one I'm wearing here. So should I consider myself as a cliché blogger as well ?

The thing is, fashion is much more interesting when you don't follow 'the rules'. And who said the weather was relevant anyway ?

But hey, I'm not on GOMI, so what should I care, am I right ?

----------------

Hier, j'ai découvert un site : GOMI (Get off my Internet)...

  5. Lol. I know the site very well. There was a post abou me last summer. I fellow NYC blogger told me and I looked it up. I actually find the writings pretty funny. As you stated, they aren't always wrong. I mean, when you look at a posting and the person is trying to be really sexy and they so aren't... funny. When a person is looking off in to the distance and we all know there's nothing there....funny. When a person thinks the more pieces you put on looks edgy or modern....funny. Sometimes I laugh at my own post and sometimes my friends will email/txt or IM me to tease me about a posting. I mean, there are only a handful of blogs that are so high-end you can't find anything to laugh about. At least in my opinion. We're all bloggers, we all have photographers or at least someone that is somewhat good at taking pics. We know what goes in to getting those 4 good shots. The close-ups of specific key pieces and the thought process of picking out the look. Not to mention the photo shoot location. Thank you for bringing this to the table. I hope everyone can find themself on there and have a good laugh.

And no, you shouldn't care. The site is mainly about bloggers from the US. Imagine they went overseas. Omg, they would have such great material. We're ALL cliche's, every single one of us. Welcome to the club.

    This post was great!

  8. I knew GOMI, and here in Italy there are also other websites mocking fashion bloggers. I agree with you, someone that makes a business of something she likes isn't someone to make a fool of, of course we are all cliché in a way. Said that, you are one of my favorite bloggers out there, you have great style and inspire me...:) Kisses

    Bisous!
