Fall coat

Coat, Jeans and Shoes // Manteau, chaussures et jean : Wallis

If you asked me what is the one piece I couldn’t live without during winter, I would say without a doubt : a nice coat.

Over the years, I’ve been able to amass quite the collection, as nothing makes an outfit quite as much as a beautiful and elegant coat. Except from shoes, you don’t need much else to be fashionable when it’s cold outside.

While it’s nice to have some fashionable coats, I’ve realized recently that I was selling almost all the coats I had bought these past few years that were too extravagant, because I grew tired of them. On the contrary, I still have coats that are high or ten years old, because I love how classic and timeless they are.

The cut is super important, because you need to find one that will flatter your silhouette, and the color is too. My favorites are black (of course, you can’t call yourself Parisian if you don’t have at least one great black coat), burgundy, navy and camel. Very predictable you might say ? Absolutely, and this is not a problem for me, as it makes my life so much easier.

I’ve had a huge crush on this Wallis coat the moment I saw it. Its color, faux fur collar, and perfect cut were exactly my requirements when it came to finding a new coat, and I’m happy I found this one, as it’s way less expensive than it looks. Every year, I buy at least one new coat, but this year, I’ve already added five (!), so I couldn’t choose super pricey ones.

I paired it with leopard flats, as I just love the combo camel + leopard, a pair of blue jeans, and a black sweater, all from Wallis too. Even though I feel like summer went in a heartbeat, it’s getting a lot chiller in Paris at the moment, and this easy outfit is perfect before temperatures start to drop drastically.

Do you agree that coats make a look ? And which kind of coat do you prefer ?

---------------

  1. I just love this outfit, it's super chic! I also think coats are worth investing in and I have few from Max Mara, which make me happy every winter. Then I purchase some cheaper ones from Zara, which I usually keep for two seasons and then sell away.

  14. People know what it's like to face the challenge of cleaning a messy bedroom. Sometimes, it can feel like you're about to climb Mount Everest when all you're really doing is putting some clothes and books away. Luckily, it doesn't have to be as hard as scaling the tallest peak. 16. Plan out when you will take a break. Taking a break to eat, drink, and kick up your heels is often a good idea. However, don’t let yourself become too distracted during your break! Plan out a chosen amount of time that you will take a break for. It is best to take a break after you have completed an entire task rather than in the middle of it. One example could be that you plan to take a break after you have cleaned out under your bed and before you start organizing the smaller things in your room.
    • Don't take a break if the time of your break comes around and you feel as though you're on a roll. Use that feeling of being on a roll to get even more done!
