It was my third time in LA, and my favorite by far ! The first time I was there was with a very good friend of mine, so that was really cool, however the conditions were not the best, cause LA is a city where you don’t walk, you drive, and we had not rented a car at the time ! Plus, the first time I wasn’t sure I truly loved it, it is very different from our European cities, and the traffic is insane.

Now, I know that LA is not to be experienced by visiting like a tourist, but by living like a local. It’s not breathtaking and out of this world beautiful, yet the lifestyle here is absolutely amazing. Healthy, sporty, nice, outdoorsy… We had our juices every morning, our own car this time, and we went to some of my favorite neighborhoods.

Melrose Place and Avenue are a must do, especially the Urth Caffé and Alfred’s Kitchen. For me, the most stylish part of the city, with many shops and good looking locals.

I discovered Malibu (I had never been), and I LOVED it ! Beautiful, carefree, the place I’d love to live if I moved here (I won’t though, but I love imagining what my life would be if I moved to the US). The houses were insane, I swam a little in the Pacific Ocean, and we had lunch at Nobu Malibu…

Hollywood was mainly for the pics, don’t go there if you only have a couple of days, you would be disappointed, unless you wanna go for a hike in the nearby hills.

Rodeo Drive is a cliché, but a good one 🙂 We also went to the Louis Vuitton exhibit, which is a must see ! And Hotel Bel air was super welcoming with the cutest picnic ever…

C’était ma troisième fois à LA, et de loin ma favorite ! La première fois c’était avec une de mes meilleures amies, donc c’était très cool, mais on n’avait pas loué de voiture, donc un brin galère sachant qu’à LA on ne marche pas, on conduit ! Et puis cette première fois, je ne m’attendais pas à cela, LA est une ville immense, très différente des villes européennes, et le trafic y est abominable.

Désormais, je sais que LA ne doit pas se visiter comme un touriste, mais doit être vécue comme un habitant ! Ce n’est pas une ville incroyablement belle, mais le lifestyle y est juste génial. Sain, sportif, doux, les gens vivent à l’extérieur, et le climat est exceptionnel : jamais trop chaud, jamais trop froid. On prenait nos jus healthy tous les matins, on avait aussi notre voiture cette fois, bref les conditions parfaites étaient réunies !

J’adore Melrose Place et Melrose Avenue, notamment the Urth Caffé et Alfred’s Kitchen. Pour moi, c’est la partie la plus stylée de LA, avec beaucoup de boutiques géniales, et des gens lookés partout.

J’ai aussi découvert Malibu (je n’y étais jamais allée), et j’ai adoré !! Magnifique, l’endroit où j’adorerais vivre si je m’installais à LA (non que je vais déménager, mais j’adore imaginer ma vie si je vivais aux US). Les maisons y sont démentes, je me suis baignée dans l’Océan Pacifique, et on a déjeuné chez Nobu Malibu…

Hollywood, c’était principalement pour les photos, franchement n’y allez pas si vous n’avez que quelques jours à LA, c’est assez décevant, sauf si vous allez marcher dans les collines alentour !

Rodeo Drive, c’est un cliché, mais un beau cliché 🙂 On a aussi fait l’expo Louis Vuitton, top ! Et l’hôtel Bel Air nous avait concocté un picnic adorable…
